You are right… the Asian Venetian replica is in Macau and not Dubai…I stand corrected…I was confusing the Venetian with the property the MGM Grand is developing in Abu Dhabi.

(Vegas is closer than any of Macau, Ahu Dhabi or Dubai, in any case! Then again the Fallsview and Rama are even closer!)

There are some downsides to travel in an an islamic emerate.

Hmmm… are you sure about the Venetian? I know they have a Venetian in Macau but I haven’t heard of the Dubai one. Also there is a mini Wynn in Macau.

Yes… but will it have tacky flashing neon lights that run up/down it in patterns at night (a la Toronto’s CN Tower)? LOL

They have two large man-made groups of islands in Dubai.

One is in the shape of a palm tree

They also have a replica of the Venetian Casino Resort a la Vegas.

On top of this, I hear the shopping is amazing there!
