Take a good look, cause this is the last time you’ll see these!

Okay, maybe you’ll see them again, but they won’t be as big! They will be chiseled and flat and look like the bronze pecs of Brad Pitt in Thelma and Louise. Okay, maybe not, I think genetics may play a roll in it but I’m going to fight tooth and nail to get trim.

2009-01-23-at-00-29-35Today was my first day at Crossfit in Toronto. Day 1 of 20 of the daily Bootcamp I enrolled in. The session starts at 7 which is a challenge within itself, but I made it with no problems. I did have quite a night though. I think that I was worried that I wouldn’t wake up so I was up pretty much every hour on the hour. The best was falling asleep at 11:45pm and waking up at 12:15am thinking that I needed to head to the gym. It is a great feeling when you know you have six more hours of sleep left!

So this week the majority of time spent will be on coaching us on how to do different exercises and talk about eating and health. We are being coached to do the moves correctly and we got a taste of what we’ll be doing in the class. I have to admit, I’m quite excited! We will be doing a lot of pull ups, squats and rings. No, I won’t be doing an double axel triple summersault dismounts anytime soon, but I will be making some nice strong shoulders.

I have also decided to take a departure from Weight Watchers for the four weeks to see how I manage. The eating habits that the gym supports are based on The Zone diet. We were given some meal plans and I may head out to buy a book about it. We’ll see. Another endeavor and another challenge. I do find that when I take on a new challenge I normally succeed because I want it to work and of course, I want to succeed. So we’ll see how this goes.

I am posting this picture up because when I saw these pictures it really hit me that I want to be fit. Not thin. But fit. And comfortable. And a little bit of muscle development never hurt anyone. So hopefully I can look at this picture in a couple months and say, wow, look how much I have accomplished!
