BLT Steak

Tonight I ventured out on my own to BLT Steak. I have passed the restaurant many times in Vegas but have never had the opportunity to actually go and dine there. Since I was dining alone I took a table at the bar. Even though I had my iPhone to keep me company, the bartenders and my neighbor also kept me company.

To start I ordered the Ahi Tuna Tartare. This arrived with a moat of soya sauce in a dish resting on ice. The tuna was cubed and sitting on an avocado mixture. The fish was fresh and totally delicious.

For my main I ordered at 12oz. NY strip medium rare. It came sizzling in a cast iron skillet with some herbed butter on top. The steak was good, but I have recently had some very good steaks and I have to say, I preferred the steak I had at Smith & Wollensky.

The side I ordered was the spicy BBQ corn and bacon which was also good... But not memorable. When asking the bartender what side she recommends she suggested this one since it is Rihanna's favorite. I was sold.

The favorite part of the meal was by far the freebie popover that arrived. This Yorkshire pudding type of bread was warm, soft and delicious. Worth using my daily carb allotment up on. It was so good. I can't brag more about it.

So overall the restaurant was good. The tuna and the bread were worth the visit.
