We got to experience New Years in Sydney...and it didn't disappoint. The experience was surreal... dancing on the harbour in front of the Opera House, watching fireworks... A-mazing.
Spicy dinner at the Spice Temple

Thursday night we went to an amazing little place for dinner. Two stories down into the basement we ate the incredibly dark Spice Temple.

The first three days in Sydney have been wonderful. At first, I was a little weary and I had my expectations set low. I figured Sydney would be like Vancouver... a beautiful city, but not much going on. Well just when I thought I had proved my point... We went to the beach.
Victoria Room for Dinner

Last night after some searching we ended up with a friend at the Victoria Room. A tropical / Victorian fusion of place, we had no problem getting a table which seems to be hard during the holiday week in this city. The food is all tapas and meant to be shared.

Arrived in Sydney!

After a very pleasureable 15 hour flight, we arrived in Australia. The flight was actually pretty easy and with the help of a sleeping pill, it pass quite quickly. I think I managed to sleep 6+ hours, so the rest of the time I could eat and watch movies (No String Attached, Hanna). Jogging pants worked out well... I was comfortable and had lots of room to expand as I ate dim sum, cheese, dinner, breakfast, and a croque monsieur. Also at the end of the trip the flight attend came by and said we were her favorites on this flight...although the competition wasn't too steep, Brad had a total biatch in front of him, the kind who doesn't look happy even when she is straight faced.

First of all, today was an awesome day filled with family, fun, and good food. Dinner was amazing tonight, all the food was delicious and was probably the best dinner my mom has served us at Christmas thus far. But now that Christmas has flown by, we are now readying ourselves for our 15 hour 35 minute flight to Syndey, Australia.

Awesome Chicken at Brickworks

Had an awesome meal at Cafe Belong yesterday. This was my first visit to Brickworks in general and it is pretty neat. Except that you have to drive, it is a great lunch spot and I'm looking forward to trying it again.
