German Food. Expensive and Salty
2011-12-27
A heavy meal after a long flight? Maybe not the smartest move. But it was good regardless.
We wandered around the city this afternoon and suddenly it was dinner time. We headed to The Rock area which is located by Circular Quay which is the ferry terminal nestled between the Sydney Harbour bridge and the Opera House.
This restaurant, the Lowenbrau got good reviews on Yelp so we thought we would give it a try. Plus Brad can't pass up a good pretzel.
Brad had the Schnitzel, which he said was good, but wasn't definitely worth how much it cost... $25. I had the Pork Knuckle which was pretty good, but again pricey. Something we may have to get used to here in Sydney. Everything seems to cost more... even with the tax included in the fee!
Anyway, the Pork Knuckle was crispy and delicious on the outside and meaty and moist on the inside. The potatoes were good, but the gravy was not... and I have reaffirmed that I don't like sauerkraut.
Nana, I thought of you as I ate my German food! And wished you were here to eat the sauerkraut!
