Kangaroo, Wallaby and Crocodile for Dinner!

Do only tourists eat kangaroo, wallaby or crocodile? I don't know, but we are tourists so it was worth a try. We headed to Ochre in Cairns for an adventurous dinner of Modern Australian Cuisine.

We ordered the Australian Sampler platter which came with deep fried crocodile and sweet and sour sort of sauce on it to start. Honestly, anything that is breaded and deep fried is good, so the crocodile wasn't bad at all. Yes, it could have been chicken...

For the main share we had wallaby and kangaroo steaks. The wallaby was a little more well done and I did enjoy the smokey taste. Because it was well done it was a little less tender than the medium cooked kangaroo. Both meats were tasty, but again, I think how they were prepared also helped!
